How it all began …..where we are today!
Having competed at local and county level all her life, up-to and including qualifying and competing at The Royal International and Horse of the Year Show, Charlotte saw a gap in the market for a local show to be run and staged for the competitors as if it was a county show. Top panel judges, big flat rings, lovely interesting courses and carefully compiled schedule offering something for everyone. Soon her small Barlow Show at Ashover had grown so big it filled the entire Bakewell Showground for two full days. With 30 plus competitors in many classes it soon became the highlight in many peoples’ calendar. Hosting a range of society qualifiers and some Royal International qualifying classes. Horse shows have changed so much in recent years with some struggling for entries whilst the HOYS classes are full of people chasing the elusive tickets.
